This is an USPS Insurance Coverage optional ADD-ON for your order, to cover the loss of your purchase amount in the event it never arrives.
This additional 'item' to buy is the ONLY way to add insurance for your shipping, Etsy has no provision to add it at checkout.
Please note: if you choose a Domestic Priority Mail option, $50 of insurance in included automatically from the Post Office. To obtain insurance on other domestic classes, choose from the options. International is only sent via Priority Mail, and its insurance coverage is included up to $200.

$3.35 for UP TO $100.00 of coverage for loss
$4.10 for UP TO $200.00 of coverage for loss

$7.00 for anything over $300.00
INTERNATIONAL Priority option:
Included up to $200
$11.05 for UP TO $300.00 of coverage for loss
$14.00 for UP TO $400.00 of coverage for loss
$16.95 for UP TO $500.00 of coverage for loss
$19.90 for UP TO $600.00 of coverage for loss
I've only ever had less than a dozen packages get lost in over 10 years of shipping. But it does happen at times. Especially during heavy shipping times such as during holidays.
Unfortunately, unless insurance is purchased I cannot be held responsible for loss or delay of package due to USPS timelines or negligence. But I will do all I can to help you file your insurance claim with the Post Office.
